    VEGETABLES, EGGS

    Eric, Stuart, Athene and their team run a 12-acre market garden at Hammonds Farm, Stroud. Hammonds Farm is dedicated to increasing biodiversity and social capital - as well as producing top-quality vegetables, fruit, nuts, eggs and beef. During the growing season, we buy vegetables weekly from Good Small Farms.   • WICK COURT (FARMS FOR CITY CHILDREN)

    PORK, BEEF, VEGETABLES

    Wick Court, near Arlingham, is one of three sites owned by the charity Farms for City Children, which enables children from disadvantaged communities to spend immersive week-long residentials caring for livestock, growing vegetables, and cooking food. If there’s pork on the menu at Brimscombe Mill, it’s pedigree Gloucester Old Spot, hand-raised in Wick Court’s paddocks and 19th century brick pens. Their Gloucester cattle are grass-fed all year round on fields overlooking the River Severn.

  • STROUD SLAD FARM

    MUTTON

    Paul and Sarah raise organic, grass-fed beef, lamb and mutton on their 120-acre mixed organic grassland and woodland farm, which also hosts a vegetable gardening co-operative. If you’re lucky, you’ll find their organic mutton gracing our table. Like what you’ve tasted? You can buy direct from the farm.

  • BRITISH HEN WELFARE TRUST

    EGGS

    The BHWT rescues around 50,000 ex-commercial hens from slaughter every year and rehomes them as family pets. The charity also campaigns collaboratively with the British egg industry to promote high welfare farming and informed consumer choice. We receive donated eggs from local rehomed hens.

    BEANS, PULSES AND GRAINS

    Hodmedod’s is a small UK company supplying beans, grains, pulses, flours and spices grown on British farms. If there’s quinoa or dal on your plate, it’s come no further than from Essex, Suffolk, Sussex, or Hertfordshire.

  • FARESHARE SOUTH WEST

    VEGETABLES, MEAT, DRY GOODS

    We receive around 70 kilos a week of food industry surplus that would otherwise go to waste. This surplus is collected, sorted and redistributed by national charity FareShare.

  • THE COUNTRY FOOD TRUST

    GAME

    The Country Food Trust processes surplus British game, providing raw meat and nutritious ready meals for free to people in need across the UK. We’re grateful for their donations of pheasant and partridge in season. To access food, donate, or find out more, click here.

    When you visit us at the Mill in the summer months you’ll see troughs and drums brimming with flowers and herbs, growing in the compost provided by our Ridan food waste composting system.

    Extract, based in Bristol, are on a mission to Make Coffee Better. As well as using sustainably grown coffee and supporting coffee growers, Extract works with local and national charities supporting community projects across UK.

    Sarah ‘Jack’ Jackaman makes mouthwatering artisan cake without gluten or animal poducts, so those with dietary restrictions can still enjoy great bakes. You can find Jack Bakes at Stroud Farmers Market and other local events.

    Day’s Cottage juice is made using dozens of old apple varieties grown in mature, traditional Gloucestershire orchards, without use of pesticides.

    The Stroud Wine Company stocks a range of diverse and intriguing wines, many from organic and biodynamic producers and less-known countries and regions. They also stock beers, ciders and spirits.

    Bennetts Farm is home to a prime herd of 100% grass fed Aberdeen Angus beef cattle. The herd are reared from start to finish, by Si & Tara Best. They farm in a regenerative and sustainable way, meaning they're working with, not against the environment, protecting the soils and nature around them.
