Wilding Documentary, Stroud Film Festival
Documentary following a young couple who bet on nature for the future of their failing, four-hundred-year-old estate. The pair battle entrenched tradition as they rip down fences and set the land back to its natural state, entrusting its recovery to a motley mix of animals both tame and wild. It is the beginning of a grand experiment that will become one of the most significant rewilding projects in Europe.

Stop Making Sense, Stroud film festival
Shooting over three nights, Jonathan Demme and his crew captured the energy and eccentricity of Talking Heads’ precisely conceived and executed live show, with all its brilliant bits of business: the existential sight gag of Byrne swallowed up in his “Big Suit;” the gentle lyricism of Tom Tom Club’s “Genius of Love;” the mesmerizing, synchronized calisthenics of the band and its indefatigable backup singers. Renowned filmmaker Demme (Silence of the Lambs) captures the band at their exhilarating best, in this new and complete restoration for the film's 40th anniversary.
The Long Table will be sporting an New York 80s vibe for the evening and there will be both seating and standing/ dancing space available.
Delicious pay-as-you-can meal available from 6pm - concert screening from 7.30pm.
To paraphrase Byrne’s paranoid narrator in “Life During Wartime,” there’s no time for dancing like the present.

An Audience with Corinne Bailey Rae
This is a fundraiser event in support of Joseph.
Joseph’s journey through terminal cancer has been eased by the rallying of family and friends; but now, more than ever, they need support to fund vital ground-breaking immunotherapy cancer treatment for him, his family and their future together. His partner Thea (our friend and colleague at Brimscombe Mill) and baby Tao rely on him as a loving husband and father and hope many of us can gather together to help them.
Thea met Corinne 25 years ago when they were both at university in Leeds. Their partners were best friends in a band together and they formed an instantaneous deep connection. They have remained close in each others lives and families ever since. Corinne has offered her friend this sensational one-off acoustic performance to fundraise and support with Joseph's much needed treatment.
As always, we like to keep our events pay-as-you can so that cost of access is not a barrier to attending. There are several tiers of ticket pricing, including some on the house! 100% of the ticket sales going directly to Joseph for his treatment.
DJ Will Mendoza will start us off with a live set and The Long Table will be cooking up a warming pay-as-you-can evening meal from 6pm, followed by an acoustic set & Q&A with the incredible Corinne Bailey Rae from 7.30pm.
The night will close with an auction of a signed LP & two tickets to Corinne's 2024 headline event in July in London, including a backstage meet & greet and the chance to pick songs for the set.
